WELCOME

Our mission is to provide a quality education through shared responsibility in a safe supportive environment for all students to meet the challenges of a global society.

We are “Committed to Excellence”, and we work hard to make the site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students and other members of our community. Our goal and responsibility is to help each student develop an enthusiasm for learning, a respect for self and others, and the skills to become a creative independent thinker and problem solver.

REC After School Program at Chipeta

What is REC?

*REC is a FREE after school tutoring and enrichment program for 1st-12th grade students. *Our mission is to improve academic achievement and social and emotional development in a safe and supportive environment.

When and Where?

*REC meets at Chipeta, after the school dismissal bell. We meet Tuesday through Friday until 6:15, 6:00 pm on Fridays. All-day field trips are often scheduled on days students have no school. We ask that students attend everyday in order to gain the most improvement in their academic achievement.

How Do We Spend Our Time?

*Students eat a nutritious snack we provide when they first arrive. We have a 15 minute recess before we begin our tutoring and homework. We spend 45-60 minutes doing homework or practicing basic skills in small groups. The last 45 minutes is enrichment time. Where we do activities like art, music, yoga, STEAM challenges or SEL.

There is NO supervision before 8:25am

Gate opens at 8:25 am

1st bell rings at 8:50 am

Tardy bell rings at 8:55 am

School ends at 4:00 pm

Drop Off and Pick Up at Chipeta Elementary School

*Please do not drop your student off on campus until 8:25 am. There is NO SUPERVISION before 8:25 am!

*PICK UP is at 4:00pm M-TH and 2:00 pm on Fridays.

*Please make plans with your student to:

-Park and walk up to pick them up at the parking lot gate

-Drive up and stay in the car as your child comes to your car

-Ride the bus

-Walk home with a buddy/sibling

Student Supply Fee $25

All families pay a $25 supply fee and our staff purchases all supplies and materials for your student. All you need to do is send them with a backpack!

Health Office / Health office policies, procedures and health information

For the safety of our staff and students:

Please remember that all medications (over the counter, prescription, cough drops, cold sore ointments, ect.) need to be kept in the health office. Students may not carry them in their pockets or backpacks.

Hand sanitizer is provided by the school, students are not permitted to bring their own.
